Currently in progress (for a friend), Saint Teddy is a continuation of the mixed media experiment. If anyone knows someone with a Roosevelt-shaped head who would be willing to model let me know!
Sideboard Project
{ Before (on the side of the road) }
{ After peeling all the veneer off and priming }
{ Finished product, complete with booze }

There's a mirror that goes with this guy that I'm not quite done with yet, but so far it's pulling its weight. For the top I used a low-sheen tung oil, and for the body finish I used a primer basecoat and grained oil stain over it to get that brownish-silver glazed look.
"Wild West" Theme Show
The Illustration department at Montserrat College of Art does a show every year with a set theme, open to both students and alumni. Typically the subjects are pretty basic, leaving the artist plenty of room for creativity. This year's theme is "Wild West":

New posts imminent
Two new projects coming up:
- In my on-going refinishing projects, the antique Arts & Crafts sideboard I'm working on is nearing completion. Photos to follow.
- For the Montserrat College of Art Illustration Department's Wild West theme show I'm working on a piece based upon the very "wild" part of Wild West.
Posts have been too far and in between, but rest assured I'll update as soon as possible.

Painter's Progress (Stage 1)
I haven't posted any kind of process shots yet, so here's a quickie mobile shot of the beginning of a new painting:

In other news I'm going to buckle down and do my damnedest to keep up with Illustration Friday, let's see if the schedule permits!
